FARS Resources
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) provides the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), a publically available national database of all fatal collisions that occur on public roadways. FARS is compiled from state collision data by and includes information about the driver and occupants. Extensive FARS resources are available from NHTSA's site at: http://www.nhtsa.gov/FARS

FARS is used to derive yearly reports known as the Traffic Safety Facts. These reports can be accessed here:

Since 2005, FARS has also included latitude and longitude coordinates for every collision record. Web-based maps of collisions from the past 3 years are available:
